Mobile Gaming isn’t just Gaming on a Mobile
July 21st, 2006 · No Comments
An informative post by Chetan Sharma in Seattle yesterday. He offers a round-up of last week’s Mobile Gaming Conference and brings up a few points that I feel are specifically relevant to Flash Lite developers.
Missing the big picture – Except for some of the seasoned industry veterans like Daishiro Okada (Square Enix), [...]

I’m pleased to announce that I/Yiibu will be speaking in Boston next week at Mobile Monday Boston (July 10th) as well as the Boston Adobe Mobile User Group (July 11th ) .

Mobile Interaction Terminology 101
June 21st, 2006 · 3 Comments
This is probably one of those totally geeky things to worry about but what exactly do we call a directional key-press on a handset?
So you have your typical navi-pad—except not all navi-pads are typical and not all are actually ‘pads.’

The premise was this: Web 2.0 is allowing users to create their own experiences. They can use APIs (and API-based UIs and services) to choose what they see and interact with, or mix and mash it to create [...]

Flash Lite - Marketing and Beyond
June 8th, 2006 · 3 Comments
I’ve read a few posts lately that talk about Flash Lite as a killer marketing tool on mobile devices. The most often noted reasons are:
ease and speed of development and testing,
the rich UI and design capabilities
the ubiquity of the platform (ubiquity’s is not here yet, but it finally seems to be well on its way)
I [...]

Mobile emulator disconnect
June 5th, 2006 · No Comments
So i’ve noticed a strange thing about mobile emulators. The added context is great but sometimes it’s just not enough. Then again—sometimes it’s too much…
Mobile emulator 1 (two weeks ago)
How it looked: Flash Lite application (swf) embedded on a web page directly a background image of a Nokia 6630. So to the user, it looks [...]
